The Forest
Pavilion is located at a special intersection of places on the walking route
from the sluice to the marina. The existing panoramic stairs accentuate the
place where water, forest, water sports and the beach come together. The rich
mix of places and the beautiful natural environment require a pavilion that
gives a boost to this special place. An iconic building that does justice to
the different perspectives from which you can experience the various elements.
Moreover, a pavilion that invites you to meet, and one that is given a place
with respect for nature.
We create a
rising natural roof through which the forest extends over the pavilion. In this
way we do not withdraw nature from the environment. One can walk up the forest
roof to the lookout point from where you have a spectacular new perspective of
the surroundings. We enhance the vantage point by adding a sculptural staircase
connecting the walking route from the roof down to the main square. A forest of
slender columns supports the forest roof, visually connecting the tree trunks
around.
