Alexander Petrounine. is an interdisciplinary architectural design studio where architecture intersects with phenomenology and theatricality.

Alexander’s focus within design has been related to the investigation of the public realm within complex urban contexts. Through Richard Sennett’s Fall of the Public Man, and Peter Brook’s The Empty Space, his work is framed around the theatrical relationship between actors and spectators within the city - because of this he formed a growing fascination for public spatial interventions that deal with notions such as temporality and phenomenology.

Alexander Petrounine is an architectural designer, currently based in Amsterdam (NL). He has an extensive experience working across scales in the field of architecture, urban design and urban planning in The Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovenia, North-Macedonia, Luxembourg, Hong Kong and Colombia.

He graduated in Architecture, Urbanism and The Built Environment in 2019 from the Delft University of Technology. During and after his studies, he has been actively involved in practice, working on numerous international projects; collaborating directly with sole practitioners, as well as working in larger offices. During his spare time he participates in several design competitions both collectively and individually.

Alexander Petrounine works with a small team. Thanks to a broad network of consultants and collaborations, any project can be handled. Below you can see a list of the architectural studio’s with whom Alexander Petrounine is or has worked with.
