Situated on the sloping lush hills of the Apennines, participants were hosted on a family-run organic farm to collaboratively design and build this structure over the course of 10 days.

The pavilion of vertical timbers’ have a rhythmic presence that stands out amongst the serene landscape of the cherry orchard and rolling field patterns to entice those who pass by on a nearby cycling trail. Anchored into the hillside on stilts, a platform provides a moment of rest to those that occupy it, and affords them panoramic views out into the context. Sheltered under a lightweight open roof, the adjacent lake and cherry orchard are aligned with views to the city of beyond Modena.


Functionally the pavilion is capable of hosting a variety of events, depending on the changing needs of the organic farm.
